Bespoke Seal Design
Two ‘square’ shaped seals demonstrate double columns of seal script topped with the traditional sun and moon motif. The upper seal script is incised with a double border. The design below is the same wording presented ‘proud’ with a single border.
These ‘square’ shaped seals depict the word ‘Karma’ in the Tibetan Petsug script. The top seal script is ‘proud’ within a broad border accommodating a tear sun and moon motif. Below shows an incised script with additional designs within the border.
The upper seal shows the word ‘proud’ in Horyig script with an oblong shape, within a single broad border. Beneath shows a wide Horyig script within a thin double lined border. The tear sun and moon motif sits outside of the border as it lacks the required thickness to be accommodated within.
Two ‘round’ shaped seals, of which the upper is a pictorial seal design incised within a thin double border. The design below shows the word ‘proud’ in Horyig script, centred within another thin double border. A single sun motif marks the top of the seal.
Seals are printing stamps and impressions thereof - used for centuries in East Asia - often in lieu of signatures as a stamp of authorship. They may function to represent a family, business, organisation or individual, and may be scriptural or pictorial designs.
Roughly twenty years ago Tashi began designing and producing bespoke seals. Made from lasercut rubber, the stamps are mounted on a handcrafted Welsh Oak base, using wood reclaimed from a 400 year old barn located at the foot of the Black Mountains. As part of the full seal set you also receive traditional cinnabar red seal paste and a full size original artwork of your seal. Tashi is adept in the script styles commonly used in seals designs, including Neo Tibetan and the Mongolian script, Horyig.
To commission a bespoke seal design by Tashi Mannox, please follow the four simple stages as listed to the right. Each commission includes a direct email consultation with Tashi.
