Laughing in the Face of Anger

Acrylic on heavy watercolour paper, 57x 76 cm, 2007

The first of the five skull series is black in colour, angry and more wrathful than its counterparts. The mood of this piece is one of loss, with the skull hovering ghost-like in space. The remedy is to tame hatred, converting it to loving-kindness. This the first of the five wisdoms.

A more detailed explanation of the Five Skulls is given here.

This painting is available as an individual print or as a set of five prints of the ‘Laughing in the Face of Death’ series
