Contemporary & Traditional Tibetan Calligraphy
Free Brushed Dzogchen Aa
Chinese ink on Aquari hand made roundel paper, 50 cm diameter. 2015
A meditation piece especially created during a summer calligraphy retreat in August 2015
With an ink loaded brush and a mind clear of apprehension or hope, but in a present moment as the brush makes the first mark on the pure white paper, to follow through without any hesitation, is a meditation in the action of calligraphy.
For the Dzogchen practitioner, the last syllable of the Tibetan alphabet, ‘Aa’ or ཨ་, represents the true nature of mind and is expressed through its form and the quality of the sound.
This calligraphy is available as the original art piece, please follow here for more details.
