Contemporary & Traditional Tibetan Calligraphy

Japanese Sumi ink with printed Bodhi leaf pattern, heavy water colour paper, 57x76 cm. 2016

A large word ‘Buddha’ calligraphed in Tibetan phonetics of the original Sanskrit word meaning awakened. A piece especially created for Tashi’s book Sacred Scripts.

The body of the letters has been carefully decorated with a Bodhi leaf pattern, especially created as a rubber stamp for this piece and used as a theme within and throughout Sacred Scripts.

The smaller script below is a homage to lord Buddha Sakyamuni, the historical Buddha.

This particular artwork has been reproduced as excellent quality giclée art prints and available to purchased as hand-signed limited editions from the ART & PRINT STORE here.
