Illuminated Iconographic Tibetan Calligraphy

Title:
Majestic Brilliance

Acrylic paint on a tea stained back-ground, 46x61cm 2009

The word Dzi (as shown in the Horyig seal script in red) is arranged to resemble a precious decorated onyx stone. Such beads are highly prized in Tibetan, as they are worldwide. The more valued Dzi’s date back two thousand years or more. To see examples of this divine agate stone and to read about its origins and types click here.

The word Dzi literally translates as shine with splendor. The text at the base of the piece translates as “Blaze with majestic brilliance”.
